An attractive pair of vintage 14K yellow gold cufflinks, the faces set with 19x13mm oval cabochons of jade with gold borders worked in a bamboo pattern. The bamboo makes for an attractive setting and reinforces the Asian origin of the jadeite. The jade cabochons are translucent and are color-graded at medium-light, slightly grayish, yellowish-green (yG4/3) with lighter mottling. The torpedo backs are hinged. Marked “585” and “14K” and also with an unidentified maker’s mark “TYL”.Origin: America, ca. 1970. Condition: excellent. Size: 13/16” x 21/32”. Weight: 9.8 grams.

A very heavy 14K yellow gold tie bar set with a blue sapphire by Tiffany & Co. The classic design features engraved lines arranged in a sunburst pattern emanating from the gypsy-set sapphire at one end. The sapphire is graded as medium strong very slightly breenish blue (vslgB 5/5), very good cut and Type II eye-clean clarity. The back is marked by Tiffany & Co. and also “14K”.Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: excellent. Size: 2-1/16” x 3/8”. Weight: 7.9 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: .221 carat. A handsome pair of 14K yellow gold cufflinks by Tiffany & Co. Each rectangular face is bead-set at one end with a round brilliant cut blue sapphire. Engraved lines emanate from the gemstones in a sunburst pattern. The sapphires are a medium dark strongly saturated blue in color and contrast nicely with the bright gold. Of the thousands of cufflinks we’ve handled over the years, this is the first pair of Art Nouveau bean-back cufflinks we’ve ever seen that have a matching design worked on both the primary face and the bean back. The 14K yellow gold links are worked with a repousse design of a maiden wearing an ornate headdress filled with the scrolls and whiplash curves typical of Art Nouveau design. The connectors are hallmarked by Krementz and are marked “14K”.Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, all original, sharp details. Size: large faces, 3/4” x 9/16; small faces, 1/2” x 3/8”. Weight: 5.2 grams.
