Edwardian 18K gold and platinum cufflinks set with diamonds. The front faces are fashioned as spheres, the top half worked in platinum and the lower half in gold. The top of sphere features a bezel-set old European cut diamond. The back faces are designed as a crossbar set with diamonds, the ends terminating in smaller spheres, each set with a diamond. The appearance is very attractive, with a little sparkle but an overall masculine appeal. The backs are marked with unidentified Continental hallmarks.

Origin: Continental Europe, ca. 1910. Condition: excellent. Size: spheres, 3/8" diameter; bars, 3/4" long. Weight: 7.4 gr. Approximate Total Diamond Weight: .70 ct.

Handsome 14K yellow gold cufflinks in a brushed finish with prong-set sapphires. The design of a cut-out triangle superimposed over a solid triangle creates layered effect that lends a nice feeling of depth to the cufflinks. the toggle backs are marked "14K".

Interesting vintage pair of 14K yellow gold cufflinks, the faces set with detailed medallions depicting a Native American above black onyx plaques. The edges are finished in a classic ropetwist motif. The backs are marked "14K."

Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: very good, sharp detail; the toggle mechanism on one link is slightly bent, but does not affect functionality and is not visible when being worn. Size: 15/16" diameter. Weight: 20.25 grams.

A handsome pair of Victorian 14K yellow gold double-sided cufflinks, the square faces highlighted with a hammered texture and star-set with very good quality antique cushion-cut diamonds, sapphires and rubies. One pair is diamond and ruby and the other is diamond and sapphire. The stones show no indications of heat treatment. The ruby and sapphire are most likely from Burma and Ceylon, respectively. The use of red, white and blue stones was particularly popular around the time of the American Centennial celebration in 1876. Tested and guaranteed 14K.

A superb pair of 18K yellow gold flip-up stirrup cufflinks in the style popularized by Cartier. Each cufflink is set with a sugarloaf cabochon sapphire of vivid dark blue color. The quality of these cufflinks is easily on par with Cartier or any other top maker. They are signed, but the signature is no longer legible. Marked for 18K.

A fine pair of 18K yellow gold double-sided cufflinks set with lapis lazuli and rubies. Each face features a lapis cut to resemble the crown portion of a round brilliant cut diamond with a bezel-set round mixed-cut ruby in the center. The rubies have fine, strongly saturated slightly purplish-red color and medium-dark tone. The lapis is of equally fine quality, with strong color and a nice smattering of glittery pyrite flecks. The heavy settings show very good workmanship. Marked "18K".

An extremely heavy pair of double-sided 18K yellow gold cufflinks, the face set with cabochon blue sapphires. Each circular face is fashioned with deeply-incised concentric rings centering the sapphires. The sapphires are of very fine quality, graded as medium-dark vivid blue (B6/7). The connectors are marked for 18K.

A beautiful pair of late Victorian heavy 18K yellow gold cufflinks by Tiffany & Co. Each elongated oval face is set with a pair of oval mixed-cut Verneuil synthetic rubies separated by a pair of old mine cut diamonds. The rubies have strongly saturated, slightly purplish-red color and excellent clarity. The diamonds are G color, VS2 clarity. Synthetic rubies of this fine quality, combined with natural diamonds and expert craftsmanship, were frequently used by elite jewelers such as Tiffany and Cartier through the early part of the 20th century. The overall effect is very rich. The faces are connected to solid oval backs, each marked "Tiffany & Co. 18K".

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent. Size: 25/32" x 5/16". Weight: 11.9 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: diamond, .2 ct; ruby, 5.32 cts.

A nice 1950's 14K yellow gold tie bar set with rectangular step-cut synthetic rubies. The tie bar is quite short, dating it to the mid-century period when ties were very narrow. Narrow ties are once again in fashion, so this is still the perfect gentleman's accessory. Marked "14K".
