Since Fred Samuel began showing his luxury jewels in Paris in 1936, the house has been known for its approach to cutting edge jewelry fashion. With its Force 10 collection, Fred became one of the first high-end jewelers to combine precious metals like gold with industrial materials like steel. The addition of diamonds enhances the contrast even more. This approach has led to Fred being one of the most important jewelers on Paris Place Vendome. A fun 18K yellow cufflink and stud set in the form of ducks. Each cufflink shows the entire duck in a swimming position, while the shirt studs are formed as duck heads. The eyes are set with round blue sapphires of fine color. The heavy weight of the cufflinks and the engraved detailing of the feathers is indicative of very high quality. The round faces are decorated only with incised concentric rings in the strictly geometric sensibilities of Art Deco. The old European-cut sapphires are set above the faces in high collet settings.
