A very attractive pair of double-faced cufflinks featuring cabochon moss agates simply set in 14K yellow gold collets. The agates have nice dark green and brownish lacy inclusions that provide the mossy appearance within the stones. Marked “14K” and also with an unidentified maker’s mark.

Origin: America, ca. 1930. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 1/2” diameter. Weight: 10.1 grams.

A beautiful pair of heavy 14K yellow gold and platinum cufflinks by Larter, each face featuring a bezel-set old European cut diamond. The faces are worked with engine-turned engraving in a complex sunburst and floral pattern, while the platinum borders are engraved in a beaded pattern against a stippled background. Even the hinged bridge connectors are beautifully engraved. The diamonds are of nice quality and good color. The backs are stamped with Larter’s hallmark and “14K”.

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent. Size: 5/8” diameter. Weight: 11.9 grams. Approximate Total Diamond Weight: .392 carat.

A very attractive pair of Victorian 14K yellow gold bean-back cufflinks finished in the softly bloomed “Russian” finish popular in pieces from the Art Nouveau era. The oval faces are simply finished with a beaded border and are star-set with small round brilliant cut rhodolite garnets. The stones have a very pleasing strongly purplish-red hue, easily mistaken for ruby. The backs are marked “14K”.

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent. Size: 3/4” x 9/16”. Weight: 6.8 grams.

A vintage 14K yellow gold tie bar in the form of three golf clubs. The detailing of the clubs' handles is very nice. The back of the tie bar has an eyelet that can be used to anchor a safety chain if the wearer wishes. This piece is marked "14K" and was probably made by Larter. Larter made much of the men's gold jewelry for Tiffany & Co., and we have seen this exact piece with Tiffany's hallmark.

A nice pair of oval-faced cufflinks worked in platinum over 18K gold, each face set with a 4-pt single-cut diamond and a 4-pt square step cut blue sapphire. The stones are set on the bias and are highlighted with raised platinum bars that are slightly polished to contrast with the matte finish of the surround platinum background. The faces are connected by chains to gold torpedo backs. Tested and guaranteed platinum and 18K.

Origin: probably continental Europe, ca. 1920. Condition: excellent, all original, one of the torpedo backs has a small ding on the side. Size: 5/8” x 15/32”. Weight: 4.5 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: diamond, .08 carat; sapphire, .08 carat.

A fine pair of French Art Nouveau 18K yellow gold cufflinks, the double faces in the form of snarling mythological griffins. The details are beautifully worked. Mythological beasts such as griffins, dragons and sphinxes were especially popular in Art Nouveau jewels by French makers. Each cufflink has one face that is smaller than the other so that it can more easily be slipped through the cuff hole. Each cufflink is hallmarked with the French “tete d’aigle”stamp for 18K.

Origin: France, ca. 1890. Condition: excellent. Size: full faces, 17/32” diameter; smaller faces, 17/32” x 7/16”. Weight: 8.0 grams.

An attractive pair of vintage 14K yellow gold cufflinks, the faces set with 19x13mm oval cabochons of jade with gold borders worked in a bamboo pattern. The bamboo makes for an attractive setting and reinforces the Asian origin of the jadeite. The jade cabochons are translucent and are color-graded at medium-light, slightly grayish, yellowish-green (yG4/3) with lighter mottling. The torpedo backs are hinged. Marked “585” and “14K” and also with an unidentified maker’s mark “TYL”.

Origin: America, ca. 1970. Condition: excellent. Size: 13/16” x 21/32”. Weight: 9.8 grams.
