A nice pair of Art Deco sterling silver double-faced cufflinks decorated with translucent enamels. The square faces have canted corners and are finished with a design of circular dove gray enamel surrounded by a border of dark green. The silver surface under the gray enamel is worked in hammered pattern that shows through the enamel, while the green area is worked in a foliate pattern. The choice of color and contrasting engraved patterns is unusual and very attractive. The backs are marked “Sterling”.Origin: America, ca. 1920. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage. A very nice pair of Art Nouveau sterling silver cufflinks by Unger Bros. Each of the oval faces features a stylized design reminiscent of pine needles swirling around a central boss. The design shows a clear trend toward a more geometric style that eventually grew into Art Deco, rather than the swirling, feminine lines of classic Art Nouveau. The faces are connected by oval links. The backs are stamped with Unger's hallmark.Origin: America, ca. 1910. Condition: excellent, all original, sharp detail. Size: 13/16" x 17/32". Weight: 11.0 grams.

A handsome pair of French Art Deco cufflinks, the double faces carved from aventurine, a green gemstone in the quartz family. The stone is often confused with jade, but actually has greater translucency and sparkles from the metallic inclusions within the stone. The square faces have slightly rounded corners and concave centers. Each of the faces is centered with a single marcasite set in silver. The faces are connected with silver chains. The connectors are marked with French silver hallmarks.Origin: France, ca. 1920. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 9/16” x 9/16”.

A nice pair of double-faced sterling silver cufflinks in the "Curio Medallion" style. This design, created by George Shiebler, was intended to give the impression that the pieces were actually ancient coins excavated from the ground. The rough edges and pitted surfaces suggested centuries' of wear and tear. Each face is decorated with the profile of a Grecian man wearing a headband. The headband is decorated with images of steeds pulling a chariot, possibly indicating that the profile was intended to represent Apollo, god of the sun, whose horses pulled the golden chariot of the sun across the sky. The backs are marked "Sterling" and have an unknown maker's mark.Origin: America, ca. 1880. Condition: excellent, sharp detail. Size: 19/32" diameter. Weight: 9.25 grams.
