A lovely Edwardian pansy pin worked in 14K yellow gold and covered in matte enamels that suggest the “velvety” texture of a pansy’s petals. The upper petals are completely white, while the lower three petals are enhanced with yellow and brown painted enamel decoration. The pansy is centered with a small round brilliant-cut diamond. The back is marked “14K” and also has an unidentified maker’s mark.Origin: America, ca. 1920. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 7/8” x 13/16”. Weight: 4.25 grams.

Elegant circle brooch in 14K gold accented with iridescent lavender, peach and cream enamels. The floral pattern probably represents an orchid viewed from the back, but resembles the shape of gingko leaves. This is a nice example of how a typical Victorian form—the circle brooch—was adapted to the more modern Art Nouveau style. The back retains the original pinstem and c-clasp, marked “14K”.Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 15/16” diameter. Weight: 3.5 grams.

Pretty 14K yellow gold and enamel "honeymoon" pin, featuring a crescent overlaid with two enameled forget-me-nots with seed pearl centers. Another seed pearl suggests an unopened flower bud. In the Victorian language of flowers, the flowers were understood to represent "honey" and the crescent shape to represent "moon". These pins were often given to new brides by their grooms during the honeymoon. The pin retains the original pinstem and clasp marked "14K".Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, all original, no enamel loss. Size: 1-1/16" x 1/2". Weight: 1.5 grams.

Elegant Art Nouveau medal brooch featuring a maiden surrounded by clouds and a bower of poppies. The design is entitled “Jeanne” which is included near the bottom of the brooch. The details are very nice and are obviously the product of a master medallist such as Dropsy or Becker. The gold has the soft “bloomed” texture characteristic of French Art Nouveau jewels. The back retains the original extended pinstem and c-clasp. The back is stamped with French 18K gold hallmarks and, illegibly, with the jeweler’s mark. This is the actual brooch pictured on page 110 of Christine Romero’s “Warman’s Jewelry”, 3rd edition.Origin: France, circa 1890. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 1” diameter. Weight: 4.0 grams.
