An exquisite pair of 18K yellow gold earrings featuring large mabe pearls, diamonds and sapphires by Spark, a New York jewelry house particularly noted for the fine quality of its gemstones. The square earrings have slightly arcing sides channel-set with brilliant round-cut diamonds, punctuated at the corners with square-cut blue sapphires. The earrings are centered with 13.8mm mabe pearls. The pearls are of spectacularly fine quality, easily on a par with Mikimoto. The surfaces are free of blemishes, are very lustrous, and have cream coloring with strong rose overtones. The diamonds are equally fine, estimated at E/F color and VVS clarity. The backs retain the original omega clips, but the posts have been removed for wear as clips. Posts can easily be added. The backs are marked “18K” and “SPARK”.Origin: America, ca. 1980. Condition: excellent. Size: 13/16” diameter. Weight: 21.6 gr. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: diamond, 2.0 carats; sapphire, 1.6 carats.

Very pretty vintage aquamarine ring featuring a 4.0 carat oval-cut aquamarine flanked by trillion-cut stones, 1.3 carats each. The 14K gold setting is of the finest quality--notice the v-shaped prongs at the points of the trillion-cut stones to protect the edges. The aquas are perfectly clear and are of a lovely pale blue color without a trace of green. The shank is marked "14K" and has a maker's mark that I can't quite make out (possibly "GC").Origin: America, circa 1970s. Condition: excellent. Size: 7-1/4 (the shank is quite thick and could be sized either direction). Approximate Gemstone Weight: 6.65 carats. Weight: 4.5 grams.

A pretty vintage four-strand pearl bracelet, enhanced with 14K white gold spacers and a heart-shaped clasp. The pearls, ranging in size from 5.0 to 5.9 millimeters, have nice luster and cream/rose color and are slightly off-round. Each of the four spacers is set with three old European cut blue sapphires. The bright blue coloring of the sapphires makes a nice contrast with the milkiness of the pearls. The bracelet is finished with a wonderful large heart-shaped clasp prong-set with forty-three natural seed pearls. The seed pearls are of unusually nice quality and are well-matched for the pavé effect. The clasp is marked “14K”.Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 15/16” wide; 6-5/8” long. Approximate Total Sapphire Weight: .56 carat.

A nice pair of modernist 14K yellow gold and pearl earrings. 5.2-millimeter pearl studs suspend faceted gold bars that, in turn, suspend open-work gold spheres studded with pearls. Each sphere comprises a dozen 4.9 millimeter cultured pearls of very good quality. The body color is cream with rose overtones. The luster is bright and the surfaces are smooth. Each of the spheres is completed with the addition of prong-set seed pearls. The spheres dangle freely and exhibit lots of movement. During the late 1950s and 1960s, scientific knowledge became an inspiration for jewelry designers who began turning pieces like “Sputnik” rings. The arrangement of the pearls and the underlying gold structure of these earrings is clearly based on atomic-level molecule models. Tested and guaranteed 14K.Origin: America, ca. 1960. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 1-3/8” long; 5/8” diameter. Weight: 8.5 grams.

The golden domes are set with a variety of semi-precious gemstones, including aquamarine, green tourmaline, garnet, citrine, and amethyst. Each piece of Sputnik jewelry has a unique appearance, depending upon the particular combination of gems chosen and the color of the gold. Sputnik jewelry was created by H. Stern, Brazil’s largest dealer in colored gemstones, and was quite popular in the early years of the space race, hence the nickname. The omega clips are marked 14K, but the body of the earrings are tested and guaranteed 18K gold.Origin: Brazil, ca. 1955. Condition: excellent. Dome Size: 3/4" diameter. Weight: 8.0 grams. A grouping of leaves to one side are finished in shaded translucent green enamels. The bouquet is presented against a pleated circle brooch. The combination of the enameled flowers and the circle brooch is characteristic of Krementz’s work in the 1930s, when they were spanning the divide between the older Art Nouveau styles and the fashionable Retro styles. The back is marked with Krementz’s hallmark. Tested and guaranteed 14K gold.Origin: America, ca. 1930. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage. Size: 1-3/16” diameter. Weight: 7.0 grams.

Exquisite 1950s triple strand pearl bracelet completed with generously diamond-set 14K white gold spacers and matching clasp. The 7mm pearls are of fine quality, with thick nacre and a lovely sheen, and are beautifully matched. The body color is ivory with silvery overtones. The quality is estimated at A1. Three swirled spacers and a matching clasp, each worked in 14K white gold complete the bracelet. Each piece is set with round brilliant-cut diamonds. The stones are of fine quality, estimated at H color and VVS clarity. Unlike most spacers that simply separate the strands, the spacers in this bracelet are constructed in a way that rows of three pearls seem to be set into the spacers themselves—a unique and particularly elegant style. The matching clasp, completely invisible when closed, is one of the best clasp designs we’ve seen in many years. The back of the clasp is marked “14K”.Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: excellent, stringing is secure, no wear to pearls. Size: 7-5/8” long; 1-1/8” wide. Weight: 53.5 grams. Approximate Total Diamond Weight: 3.83 carats.
