An exuberant mid-century cocktail ring set with semi-precious stones in various hues. The center features a 1.9 carat peridot capping a wonderful buttercup setting, in turn surrounded by more than 15.0 carats of collet-set garnets, kunzite, pink and green tourmaline, olivine, zircon and citrine. The famed jeweler and gemstone dealer H. Stern created a vogue for multi-gem pieces in the 1950s. This ring may well be one of his products, although it is not signed. The quality of the workmanship is superb, particularly in the ornate buttercup setting and the delicately millegrained edges of the collet settings. The gemstones are of the finest quality, with excellent color saturation and clarity. The gold has a slightly rosy tint that contrasts nicely with the stones. Tested and guaranteed 18K.Origin: probably Brazil, ca. 1960. Condition: excellent, all original. Ring Size: 7. Size: 1-3/16 diameter; 3/4" high. Weight: 13.5 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: tourmaline, 1.0 carat; citrine, 1.3 carats; garnet, 1.2 carats; kunzite, 1.5 carats; zircon, .75 carat; olivine, .5 carat; peridot, 1.9 carats.
