Extremely rare set of twelve 7-piece place settings in Georg Jensen's wonderful Art Deco "Parallel" or "Relief" pattern. Designed in 1931 by Jensen's brother-in-law O. Gundlach-Pedersen, this pattern makes the most of Art Deco geometry and severity. The plain surfaces are relieved only by a series of stepped parallel lines near the ends of the handles. The shapes of the bowls and tines are somewhat elongated to add to the streamlined look. Each piece is stamped with the post-1945 hallmark. This pattern has not been produced since 1976, and is among the most difficult Jensen patterns to find. Each place setting comprises a dinner fork, salad/dessert fork, teaspoon, place spoon, cream soup spoon, dinner knife and butter spreader.Origin: Denmark, 1945-76. Condition: excellent, no monograms. Total Weight: 4,188.00 grams.

Fine and elegant transitional Art Deco sterling silver cocktail shaker by Shiebler. The undulating profile of the shaker terminates in the double pouring spout. The shaker opens at the shoulder for adding ingredients, but the strainer mechanism is activated by turning the pouring spout. The shape has the curvy lines of Art Nouveau, but the surfaces are unadorned, so the shaker begins to take on the more streamlined Art Deco aesthetic. The bottom is hallmarked by Shiebler and also has the retailer's mark for Black, Starr & Frost.Origin: America, ca. 1920. Condition: excellent, two pinpoint dings visible only in strong, raking light. Size: 8" tall. Weight: 304.0 grams.

Nice sterling silver leaf-form bowl by acclaimed studio silversmith Alfredo Sciarrotta in a pattern sometimes called "Tobacco Leaf." The designer's work is instantly recognizable from the quality of workmanship, the heaviness of the material and the naturalistic shapes accented with delicately curling edges. The dish is raised on three dome feet. The bottom is stamped with the hallmark only used on Sciarrotta's pieces sold from his studio. The pattern number is 5.Sciarrotta was smuggled out of Italy during World War to help in the development of the U.S.'s submarine technology. Afterwards, he settled in Newport, Rhode Island and created a small line of hand-made silver holloware. Initially, they were retailed only in his own studio, but were eventually picked up by major luxury retailers including Cartier; Black, Starr & Gorham; and Shreve, Crump & Low. His pieces are now in many institutional collections including the Smithsonian. Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: excellent, no dings or monograms. Size: 6-5/16" x 4" x 1-5/8". Weight: 108.0 grams.
