A very rare and attractive pair of vintage cufflinks, the faces formed as bezel-set round brilliant cut colorless quartz with rutile inclusions. Known as “rutilated quartz” or "sagenitic quartz", this special gemstone has very fine transparency but an abundance of coppery-gold needle-like inclusions of rutile. The effect is very attractive. The faces are joined by chains to baton backs, gypsy-set at each end with round brilliant cut diamonds. The backs are marked “750” and have the maker’s mark “MF”. Ca. 1950. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 3/4” diameter. Weight: 10.4 grams. Approximate Total Diamond Weight: .12 carat. |
