An elegant Victorian half-hoop 18K gold ring set with a double row of old mine cut diamonds and red spinels. The spinels have fine purplish-red color and good clarity. The diamonds are J/K color and VS2 to I1 clarity. The color contrast and size of the stones makes this a particularly attractive example of a classic half-hoop ring. The interior of the shank is stamped with Birmingham hallmarks, but the maker and year mark are not legible. There is a also a date engraving that appears to be “9.3.93”.
