Terrific Victorian brass matchsafe in the form of a horseshoe. One side features additional decoration of racing tack--a saddle, riding crops, a jockey's cap, and stirrups. The other side displays a hunting theme with a rifle, a couple of game birds and a hunting horn. The hinged end is engraved to serve as a striker. Origin: America or England, circa 1860. Condition: excellent, original patina. Size: 2-1/16" x 1-11/16". |
