Nice heavy 18K yellow gold brooch depicting a mother and baby elephant. The eyes are set with small rubies and the surface has a Florentine finish to provide texture suggestive of elephant hide. The ears and tusks have a smooth finish for contrast. The back is marked with post-war Italian hallmarks for 18K gold. Origin: Italy, ca 1960s. Condition: excellent. Size: 1-5/8” x 1-1/16”.
