Outstanding Victorian 14K yellow gold circle pin in the form of a coiled griffin. The creature is heavily detailed with swirls of fur, sharp fangs and a thrusting tongue. The eye is set with a small cabochon ruby. The pin is quite heavy and the workmanship is of the finest quality. The back retains the original watch hook, pinstem and clasp. Marked and tested 14K gold. America, ca. 1895. Condition: excellent, sharp detail. Size: 1-5/16” diameter. Weight: 7.5 grams. |
