Very fine Victorian watch chain with an exceptional barrel-shaped box clasp with Etruscan Revival beaded and enameled decoration. The pierced barrel is bisected by a band of turquoise enameled "jewels". Because of its unusually generous length, this piece is very versatile--it can be worn full length, doubled as a necklace, tripled as a choker, or wrapped multiple times and worn as a delicate bracelet. Tested and guaranteed 18K. Origin: America, ca. 1865. Condition: excellent, 50-80% wear to three of the tiny enameled jewels. Size: 47-3/4" long; clasp, 1/2" x 1/2". Weight: 12.5 grams. |
