An elegant set of French Art Deco silverplated bronze knife rests (“porte-couteaux”). Each narrow bar has a scalloped top that keeps a soiled knife off the tablecloth. The knife rests are made from heavy bronze that has been plated in silver. The knife rests are presented in their original fitted box. Origin: France, ca. 1935. Condition: excellent, no plating wear; box has significant wear. Size: 3-3/8” x 5/8” x 5/8”. |
