A small Victorian 14K yellow gold pin in the form of a tiger’s head. The snarling face is very detailed and the animal appears very powerful. The eyes are set with tiny bright green stones to suggest emeralds. The small size of the pin makes it particularly appropriate for wear on a lapel. The pinstem and safety clasp are not original, and the pin was probably originally a stickpin. Origin: America, ca. 1880. Condition: excellent; pinstem and clasp replaced. Size: 5/8” x 11/16”. Weight: 2.5 grams. |
