A colorful antique glass paperweight with a scrambled or “madedoine” design by the New England Glass Company or Boston & Sandwich Glass Company. The setup was made from leftover pieces of cane and includes a nice variety of lace twists, color twists and miscellaneous bits. The overall coloring is a little richer than most examples and tends towards greens. The concave polished bottom is surrounded by a 1/8” basal ring. The glass is nice quality with good weight. Origin: America, ca. 1860. Condition: normal light wear to surface. Size: 2-7/16” diameter; 2” tall. |
