A handsome 18K yellow gold brooch fashioned as a branch from a thorn tree scattered with pearls. The woody texture of the branches is achieved with very fine stippled engraving that contrasts nicely with the smooth texture of the piece of ribbon tied at the bottom of the branch. The 4.5mm pearls are of very fine quality, with ivory body color and rose overtones. The luster is excellent. The back of the brooch is marked “18K” and has an unidentified maker’s mark. Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: excellent. Size: 2-3/16” x 1-1/2”. Weight: 10.25 grams. |
