An extraordinary bracelet constructed from nine 20-franc gold coins, representing each French government from the First Empire (1804-05) to the Second Republic (1906). Each coin is set in a pronged frame that allows the entire front and back surfaces, as well as the rims to be viewed. The frames are joined by double heavy 18K gold foxtail chains. The clasp bears French hallmarks for 18K gold (the setting only) and an unidentified maker’s mark. The coins, even the oldest, are in fine condition with sharp detail. Each is 22K gold.
