18K & 22K Gold French 20-Franc Coin Bracelet
An extraordinary bracelet constructed from nine 20-franc gold coins, representing each French government from the First Empire (1804-05) to the Second Republic (1906). Each coin is set in a pronged frame that allows the entire front and back surfaces, as well as the rims to be viewed. The frames are joined by double heavy 18K gold foxtail chains. The clasp bears French hallmarks for 18K gold (the setting only) and an unidentified maker’s mark.

The coins, even the oldest, are in fine condition with sharp detail. Each is 22K gold. L-R: 1st Empire 1804-05 [Emperor Napoléon I (obverse); laurel wreath (reverse)]; 1st Empire 1806 [Emperor Napoléon I (obverse); laurel wreath (reverse)]; 1st Empire 1808 [Emperor Napoléon I crowned (obverse); laurel wreath (reverse)]; Restauration 1824 [King Louis XVIII (obverse); crowned shield with fleurs-de-lis (reverse)]; Restauration 1825 [King Charles X (obverse); crowned shield with fleurs-de-lis (reverse)]; Restauration 1847 [King Louis Philippe (obverse); laurel wreath (reverse)]; 1st Republic 1849 [Céres (obverse); laurel wreath (reverse)]; 2nd Empire 1855 [Emperor Napoléon III (obverse); laurel wreath (reverse)]; 2nd Republic 1906 [Ceres (obverse); Gallic cock (reverse)].

Origin: France, ca. 1906 (coins 1804-1906). Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 1” wide; 8-1/4” long. Weight: 87.5 grams.
