A very nice blown amethyst glass hyacinth vase in a rich amethyst color--a very desirable shade. The squat, bulbous form is also somewhat unusual. The base has a sheared pontil and pad foot. Hyacinth vases were popular for forcing colorful bulbs inside Victorian homes. Origin: America, ca. 1880. Condition: excellent, no chips or cracks. Size: 7-1/8" tall. |
