A lovely Italian micro-mosaic brooch set in a gilt silver mounting. The brooch depicts a bouquet of blue morning glories against a black background. The coloring is very nice and the mosaic work is excellent. Floral micromosaics usually feature roses instead of more uncommon flowers such as morning glories. The back retains the original pinstem and c-clasp. Origin: Italy, ca. 1870. Condition: excellent, no chips or cracks, no missing tesserae. Size: 1-9/16" x 1-1/4". |
