A wonderful and very rare signed 18K yellow gold ring set with a white and a black pearl by famed couturier Pierre Cardin. The Modernist design features a squared shank with a flat open gallery enclosing two 7.0mm pearls. The pearls are drilled so that they rotate freely. The pearls are of very nice quality, with superb luster and natural color. The back of the shank is fully marked with French hallmarks for 18K gold and the interior is signed “Pierre Cardin”. Few couturiers in the 1960s were designing precious jewelry, and this is a rare example in classic 1960’s style. Origin: France, ca. 1965. Condition: excellent, all original. Finger Size: 5. Size: shank, 1/8” thick; 3/4” wide. Weight: 5.25 grams. |
