A wonderful Victorian 14K gold twist long chain punctuated at regular intervals with collet-set opals and blue sapphires. The gemstones are of very fine quality. The opals have distinct fire, with an abundance of red-orange tones and the sapphires are unusually clear for cabochon stones. The edges of the collets are finished with beaded decoration. The original spring-clasp is marked “14K”. Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 28” long. Weight: 13.5 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: opal, 1.64 carats; sapphire, 2.01 carat. |
