An elegant contemporary ring from the “Piramide” line by Bulgari. The heavy 18K yellow gold setting rises smoothly from the shank toward a lapis cut into a rounded pyramid shape. The bottom edge of the setting is scalloped, imitating the white gold insets at the shoulders. The lapis has superb, even coloring. This ring is more frequently seen set with blue topaz, but the lapis is really much more effective. The opacity of the stone nicely matches the overall heft of the design. The interior the setting is beautifully constructed to match the outside. The shank is signed “Bvlgari” and has the appropriate Italian hallmarks for 18K gold. Origin: Italy, ca. 2005.
