A superb large 18K yellow gold fob charm set with amethyst. This is one of the most unusually-shaped Etruscan-style charms we've seen. Each side features a collet-set oval amethyst of slightly more than 10 carats. The stones have deep, saturated color and excellent clarity. The gold surfaces are heavily enhanced with beading and twisted wire decoration. The charm retains its original bale marked with Italian 18K hallmarks. Origin: Italy, ca. 1960. Condition: excellent; slight wear to edges of facets and a 1mm roughness on the edge of one facet. Size: 1-5/8" x 1-3/8". Weight: 15.5 grams. Approximate Gemstone Weight: 20.64 carats. |
