A gorgeous Art Nouveau pendant worked in 14K yellow gold and decorated in pastel enamels. The pendant is in the form of a female bust superimposed over a large ruffled flower similar to a hibiscus. The petals of the flower, beautifully decorated in pale pink and cream translucent enamels, discreetly fold over the lady's naked breasts. She wears a necklace of tiny single-cut diamonds and has another in the middle of the enameled flower corsage tucked into her hair. The detail of the casting and the basse-taille engraving under the enamel are finely worked. The back retains the original pinstem and clasp, as well as the swivel bale. The back is marked "14K 7VI". Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage. Size: 1-1/16" diameter. Weight: 6.0 grams. Approximate Diamond Weight: .08 carat. |
