Fantastic French Art Deco 18K yellow gold and platinum double-sided cufflinks, the faces set with diamonds and blue sapphires. Each rectangular faces is centered with a row of three channel-set square cut natural blue sapphires of very fine, bright color and clarity. The sapphires are surrounded by a border of rose-cut diamonds in millegrained settings. The border of diamonds extends outward toward each canted corner. Exposed areas of platinum are decoarated with parallel lines of engine-turned engraving. The classic color combination and stark geometry of the design creates a very strong Art Deco statement. The faces are joined by removable figure-eight connectors. Fully stamped with appropriate French hallmarks. Origin: France, ca. 1915. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 5/8" x 1/4". Weight: 11.5 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: diamond, 1.06 carats; sapphire, 1.09 carats. |
