An extraordinarily fine late Art Nouveau enameled orchid brooch. The 14K yellow gold body is beautifully modeled in a very three-dimensional and naturalistic way and is decorated with exquisitely shaded translucent enamels in shades of rose, raspberry and green. The quality of the enameling is so good that you can almost feel the velvety texture of the flower’s throat. A prong-set old European cut diamond of very good quality accents the flower. The back retains the original pinstem and clasp hallmarked by Whiteside & Blank. Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage. Size: 1” x 1”. Weight: 5.4 gr.
