A nice pair of Art Deco sterling silver double-faced cufflinks decorated with translucent enamels. The square faces have canted corners and are finished with a design of circular dove gray enamel surrounded by a border of dark green. The silver surface under the gray enamel is worked in hammered pattern that shows through the enamel, while the green area is worked in a foliate pattern. The choice of color and contrasting engraved patterns is unusual and very attractive. The backs are marked “Sterling”. Origin: America, ca. 1920. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage. Size: 1/2" x 1/2”. |
