A colorful pair of Edwardian 14K yellow gold cufflinks, the oval faces decorated with guilloche an champeleve enamels. The center of each face has Prussian blue translucent guilloche enamel a gold ground with engine-turned decoration in a moiré pattern. The faces are finished with a band of opaque white champlevé enamel. The solid connectors are marked “14K” and also have the maker’s mark “WAS”. One face has an area of discolored enamel along the edge of the blue that appears to be from the manufacturing process, perhaps where the powdered enamel wasn’t properly mixed. Origin: America, ca. 1910. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage. Size: 3/4" x 1/2". Weight: 8.3 grams. |
