A very pretty bracelet made from twelve Victorian gold slides. The slides are in a variety of styles and are set with various gemstones. From left to right: 10K with turquoise and pearls; 10K with repousse floral decoration; diamond-shaped 10K with synthetic rubies and sapphires set in a checkerboard pattern; 14K set with a rose-cut diamond in a double-sided repousse floral background; 14K set with an old mine cut diamond and enhanced with Etruscan revival bead and wirework decoration; 14K with decorative engraving and opaque black taille d’epargne enamel; large 14K shield-shaped; 14K collet-set with two very fine opals in a double-sided repousse floral background; 14K heart-shaped star-set with a pearl; 14K box-shaped with applied architectural revival decoration; 14K diamond-shaped with a star-set pearl; and 10K oval with pearls and turquoise cabochons bead-set in a star pattern. All the slides are very attractive, but the opal slide bears particular mention. The opals are of exceptionally good quality. One stone is a light-based black opal and the other is a white or crystal opal. The play of color is evenly distributed and represents the full spectrum, with a preponderance of red and blue flashes. The slides are strung on a double chain with a 14K fold-over clasp and are separated by 14K gold spacer beads. Tested and guaranteed for gold content. Origin: America & England, ca. 1860-1900. Condition: excellent, light pinpoint dings on largest slide. Size: 7-3/4” long. Weight: 16.5 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: diamond, .03 ct; opal, .6 ct. |
