A beautiful and large Mikimoto floral brooch of cultured pearls set in 14K white gold. Most Mikimoto brooches are set with 6-12 pearls, but this exceptional pin features thirty very fine pearls, ranging from 5.4 to 7.72 millimeters. The pearls are of the best quality, with cream body color and rose overtones. The luster is bright and the surfaces are minimally blemished. Using Mikimoto’s grading system, the quality is estimated to be AA. Most Mikimoto pins in light-colored metals are in sterling silver. It is very difficult to find white gold pins. The back is stamped with Mikimoto’s hallmark and is marked “WG14K”. Origin: Japan, ca. 1960. Condition: excellent. Size: 2-1/2” x 2-3/16”. Weight: 20.9 grams. |
