A very nice mid-Victorian four-leaf clover pin set with 79 rose-cut Bohemian pyrope-almandite garnets. The stones have good red coloring and aren’t too dark or brownish. The setting is the traditional gilt metal with silver content. Garnet jewelry was popular in the mid-19th century, but good quality figural pieces such as this are becoming difficult to find. Origin: Bohemia, ca. 1860. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 1-1/4” x 1-1/4”. |
