A very nice Elgin railroad grade lever-set pocket watch in a very ornate Fahy's gold-filled hunter case. The works bear the serial number 8618654, indicating a manufacture date of 1899. It's a size 18, grade 217, 15 jewel watch. The dial has Roman numerals and an inset seconds dial. The case is beautifully decorated with a floral/bird motif on the front and cottage scene on the back. The case is marked "Fahys", one of the better makers of gold-filled cases. There is no wear and the details are very crisp. The watch is in full working order. Origin: America, 1899. Condition: excellent, no case wear, no cracks or staining to dial, no cracks or scratches to crystal, working condition. |
