A very nice Victorian watch fob seal in the shape of a lion standing atop an oval plinth. The sides of the plinth are beautifully decorated in a pattern of oak leaves and acorns worked in green and rose gold against a stippled background. The lion is finely detailed. The fob is set with a bloodstone (heliotrope) seal that has never been engraved. The fob retains the original jump ring decorated in a ropetwist pattern that matches the pattern of the bail. Tested and guaranteed at least 15K. Origin: probably England, ca. 1850. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 3/4” x 19/32” x 3/4” high (excluding jump ring). Weight: 7.6 grams. |
