A very nice example of a New England Glass Company scrambled paperweight. The set-up is tightly packed with a variety of colorful canes and ribbon twists, including one complex cane with a white eagle silhouette against a cobalt background. There may be two additional silhouettes, but they are too blown out to be certain. There is also a preponderance of chartreuse colored bits more frequently seen in St. Louis weights. The glass has very good clarity. Origin: America, ca. 1860. Condition: very good; a few nicks at the top of the crown; no cracks. Size: 2-5/8” diameter; 1-3/4” high. |
