Colorful pottery sardine box decorated with all manner of seashells in shades of brown, red, blue and grey. The bottom is marked "Handpainted Occupied Japan" around a peacock logo.

Origin: Japan, ca. 1945-52. Condition: excellent. Size: 5" x 3-3/4" x 2-3/4".

Very good Staffordshire figural group portraying a young man and woman in a garden. He holds a floral wreath while she holds a potted rosebush. The decorative painting is very nice, especially the facial details.

Lovely gilt bronze-mounted oval dresser tray with handmade lace insert. The bottom is marked "Apollo Made in U.S.A. 2697 12."

Origin: America, ca. 1920. Condition: excellent, except a small area of lace has a tear and slight discoloration (12 o'clock position in second photo). Size: 13-1/2" x 6-1/4" x 3/4".

Very rare heart shaped gilt bronze-mounted dresser tray with handmade lace insert. This is the only heart-shaped dresser tray I've ever seen. Marked on the bottom "France."

Origin: France, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, but could use some cleaning. Size: 10-3/4" x 8-1/2" x 1".

Outstanding three-piece sterling silver dresser set with guilloche enamel. Both brushes have natural bristles and the jar is panel-cut. All pieces are fully hallmarked for "G. Bros." London and Birmingham, 1928. The markings also indicate the pieces were made for export to America.

Origin: London & Birmingham, England, 1928. Condition: excellent, including the bristles; absolutely no problems with the enamel. Size: hairbrush 9" long; clothesbrush 6-1/4" long; jar 2" diam.

Lacquer tobbaco or snuff box with faux tortoise finish and brass Maltese cross inlay on the lid.

Origin: England, ca. 1820. Condition: good; some crackling and scratching of lacquer surface; one 1/2" and one 1/8" flake on the bottom. Size: 3-1/2" diam.; 1-5/8" tall.

Colorful thread box, the hinged top decoupaged with playing cards. Both the inside lid and the bottom have labels proclaiming "Brook's Soft Finish is the Perfection of Sewing Thread."

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: very good, some crackling of finish. Size: 5" x 4" x 2".

English porcelain teacup and teabowl featuring three fine transfer designs printed in a stunning magenta color that is so intense it almost takes on the appearance of pink luster. The teabowl is decorated with a scene entitled "Winchester College" and the cup has "Macduff's Castle" and "Berwick Salop [sp?]". The saucer is further decorated with two concentric rings around the edge and the cup has two matching rings around the inside lip. Both pieces are in very fine condition, with only minimal scratching of the top surface of the teabowl. English, ca. 1840. Saucer 5-1/4" diam.; cup 2-1/2" tall.

Rectangular black laquered snuffbox enhanced with mustard- and red-painted decoration on all six surfaces. The inside of the lid is engraved "Alexr C. Stark/Paterson, NJ". American, ca. 1830. Excellent condition, showing slight surface wear where Mr. Stark (obviously a right handed gentlemen) placed his thumb to open the box.

Beautiful striped agate mounted in sterling silver and gold. The back of the mounting is silver and the top edges are gold. There are no hallmarks, so the brooch is probably American or a custom-made English piece. It retains its original clasp. 1.25"x1.5"

A simply wonderful piece of English royalty memorabilia. A sterling silver replica of the English throne and the anointing spoon rest atop a replica of the velvet pillow upon which the crown is carried in procession at the coronation of English monarchs at Westminster Abbey. Both the throne and anointing spoon bear full hallmarks for the coronation year 1910 in the City of Birmingham. The maker's mark is "L&S." Both sterling pieces also bear a registry number. 2" tall; 2.5" square.

Six 17th century style sterling silver coffee spoons in the original velvet and satin lined box. The finials are in the shape of globe artichokes. Each spoon is fully hallmarked for London, 1946. Both the spoons and the box are in mint condition. Spoons 4" long.

Oil on masonite painting "Autumn in the Rockies" by Arthur J. Hammond (sgnd l.r.). This work uses bright autumnal colors muted with browns and greys. The broad, heavy strokes give the work a post-Impressionist look. The painting was acquired along with two others, both dated 1924, hence the dating of this work.

The back is marked in pencil in the artist's hand, "Autumn in the Rockies/Arthur J. Hammond/Rockport, Massachusetts." A later label in another hand reads, "Arthur J. Hammond/Am. b. Vernon Conn. 1875/1934 Rockport, Mass./Mallett's Index/Am. Art Annual 1933."

The lobed bowl is decorated with repousse apples, berries and foliage; the handle with bright cut engraving, both added later in the 19th century. (We are also offering another berry spoon by a different silversmith and with a slightly different shape, but with identical decoration. Certainly the two spoons were decorated by the same engraver and repousser.) No monograms or removals. The reverse is clearly hallmarked for London, 1811 and an unidentified maker "SA". Excellent condition; the vermeil bowl has faded to a faint lemon color. 8-1/2" long.
