A very good fruit bouquet paperweight by the New England Glass Company. Four pears alternate with cherries and foliage around a central pear. The lampwork fruit is particularly nice in this weight. The bouquet is presented against a spiraling double latticinio basket. The dome is high and offers nice magnification. The crystal is a bit sugary, as is typical of many NEGC weights. The concave base has a wide basal ring.

Origin: America, ca. 1870. Condition: excellent, absolutely minimal surface wear to the dome. Size: 2-1/2" diameter; 2-1/8" tall.

An elegant Art Nouveau glass vase decorated with enameled poppies. The blossoms are worked in shades of cream, yellow, rose and violet, while the foliage is stained a reddish-purple and highlighted with complex lacy gilding. The upper rim is decorated with a band of stained and gilt flowers, as well. The vase is blown in pillar form with an optic paneled design. The workmanship is very fine. Unsigned, but definitely made by Mont Joye (also know as Verreries Saint-Denis and Legras).

Origin: France, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, no cracks, no enamel or gilding wear. Size: 9-1/4”.

A beautiful Victorian art glass short vase or cachepot in luscious shades of caramel. The vase is made in the manner of plated amberina, except that the color shades from a light toffee at the bottom to a dark nut brown at the rim. The interior plating is pale caramel. The vase is blown into a twisted four-lobed shape with a slightly everted rim. The sides are elegantly decorated with handpainted apple blossoms and foliage in restrained shades to complement the colors of the glass. The quality of decoration is easily on par with the best Wavecrest, Royal Flemish or other major American art glass types. The base has a polished concave pontil and has a painted decorator's mark "P.671/3."

Origin: probably Bohemian, possibly English, ca. 1890. Condition: excellent, no glass or enamel damage. Size: 6" x 6" x 5-3/8" tall.

A rare peacock blue pressed glass Imperial Russian tea box, the lid enhanced with intaglio decoration of Moscow’s elegant Neoclassical Pashkov House. The edges of the hinged lid are pressed in a pattern of diamonds and fans, while the sides are decorated in arched pillars and diamonds. The bottom is impressed with the glassworks’ mark and the date 1911. The edges are mounted in white metal and the box retains its original key. Imperial Russian boxes with architectural scenes on the lids are quite rare.

Origin: Russia, ca. 1911. Condition: very good, minor roughnesses on upper edge, three 1/2” flakes on the underside of the bottom rim. Size: 5-3/4” x 3-1/2” x 3-3/16”.

A fine pair of American brilliant cut glass candlesticks signed “Libbey.” The stems and candle sockets are cut in Libbey’s “Plain Flute” pattern. The foot is decorated in an unequal radiant star pattern. The stems are spectacular! Each has not one, but four air bubbles that are twisted about each other in a spiral pattern extending the full length of the stem. Each candlestick is marked with Libbey’s acid signature (Libbey with a break in the tail of the “L” and enclosed in a circle) on the socket.

Origin: America, ca. 1910. Condition: excellent, one stem has a 3/32” fleabite on a flute edge just under the lip of the socket, normal surface wear on underside of feet. Size: 10” tall; 4-7/8” diameter at foot.

Stunning cut Bohemian glass powder jar with top-notch polychrome enameling. The lid is decorated with a wonderful scene of an 18th century gentleman surrounded by bowers of flowers. The sides of the jar are decorated with a wreath of flowers and acanthus leaves. The sides are cut in a St-Louis diamond pattern. The rims of both the jar and the lid are gilt. The bottom of the jar is cut with oval printies alternating with mitres. Unsigned, but definitely the work of Lobmeyr.

Origin: Bohemia, circa 1890. Condition: excellent, no chips or cracks, no missing enamel, only the most minimal wear to gilding (less than 5%). Size: 3-1/2" diam., 2-5/8" tall.

A gorgeous Napoleon III white opaline glass baluster-form vase with an everted apple green opaline rim and an applied molded green opaline foot with knopped and ribbed decoration. The overall design is very pleasing and the color contrast is stunning. The quality is comparable to Baccarat, although the vase was probably made at a competing cristallerie.

Origin: France, ca. 1860. Condition: excellent, all original, no cracks or chips. Size: 10-1/2” tall.

A fine glass cocktail shaker by Hawkes. The glass blank is blown in an optic paneled style and highlighted with gilding at the neck. The body is beautifully enameled with a colorful rooster and the reverse side is engraved with the recipe for a "Bronx" cocktail. The stopper is finished with floral intaglio engraving. The The double-lip form of the shaker is very similar to the shape Hawkes used for oil & vinegar cruets. The base and stopper are signed with Hawkes' acid-etched trefoil mark.

Origin: America, ca. 1920. Condition: excellent, no chips or cracks; a small moon on the lower edge of the stopper. Size: 11" tall.

A pair of elegant Art Nouveau enameled Bohemian glass bowls with floriform decoration. The petals of a vivid pink flower curl up the sides and are interspersed with green tendrils. The flowers are echoed in the undulating rim decorated with a thin line of gilding. The overall workmanship is superb. This sort of decoration was produced by Theresienthal, Meyr’s Neffe, Lobmeyr or Fritz Heckert, and the quality of these pieces is consistent with any of those makers. Typically, this style is seen in goblets, but other tablewares such as these are more uncommon.

Origin: Bohemia, ca. 1895-1905. Condition: excellent, light wear to gilding at rim, no other enamel wear, no chips or cracks. Size: 3” tall, 4-1/2” diameter.

A very fine and rare antique glass paperweight by Pairpoint. There sphere encloses a translucent red and opaque white double twist within a cloud of controlled bubbles. The foot is engraved in a design known as "Pattern No. 220". Pairpoint called this design "Veneti" and used it to produce candlesticks, compotes, vases and stemware. Veneti paperweights are quite uncommon.

Origin: America, ca. 1915. Condition: excellent, no chips or cracks. Dimensions: 3-3/4" tall.

A wonderful cut opaline glass egg-shaped perfume caddy by Baccarat. The hinged lid opens to reveal an area that would have been used to store a plain stoppered bottle of perfume. The milky white translucent glass contrasts beautifully with the rich gild bronze acanthus leaf mountings. The crystal is cut simply with vertical parallel ribs. The glass has the fiery shots or orangey-red typical of opaline glass made by Baccarat. The bottom retains a fragment of an original paper label and a partial acid-etched signature “France”.

Origin: France, ca. 1890. Condition: excellent, all original, gilding intact. Size: 4-1/4” tall.

A lovely cut glass perfume bottle cut from cranberry to clear. The design incorporates wide miters separated by combinations of fans, strawberry diamond and star motifs. The shoulders of the bottle are panel cut, and the base is finished with a 24-point star. The lapidary-cut stopper is original to the bottle and is engraved with the same number as the inside of the bottle's neck.

Origin: Europe, possibly Val St. Lambert, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, no chips or cracks. Size: 5-3/4" tall.

A beautiful Art Nouveau panel-cut crystal vase, the surface completely etched in a swirling design of flowers resembling columbines. The etching is highlighted with soft gilt details that bring out the depth of the pattern. The rim of the vase is finished in a sawtooth pattern derived from the shapes of the engraved blossoms. Although often attributed to Moser, this style of engraving with gilt highlights is typical of the Art Nouveau designs from the great Bohemian glasshouse Harrach. The quality of the crystal itself, as well as the workmanship, easily illustrates why Harrach was considered a primary competitor to Moser.

A very fine Nailsea-Stourbridge green bottle glass paperweight with a foiled flower pot design. A large central petunia-type flower arises on a slender stem from the well-formed pot, and is surrounded with two additional circlets of smaller flowers, four to each layer. This example is particularly nice with a good, clear gather of glass and a fine shape. The bottom has the rough pontil.

Origin: England, mid-19th century. Condition: excellent, very light surface wear. Size: 4" diameter; 4-3/4" tall.

A very good cut glass vase by Clark in the "Iris" pattern. The lower third and the flared rim are cut with elongated hobstars flanked by mitred triangles of strawberry diamond cutting enhanced with fans; and the neck is cut with panels of printies alternating with notched prisms. The base is cut with a 20-point hobstar and has Clark’s script acid signature. The pattern is either "Iris" or a variant of “American Beauty”. The cutting is very precise and the polish is excellent.

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, a small nick to only one tooth at the rim. Size: 10-1/4” tall.

Very nice vintage South Jersey glass paperweight featuring a frit design of an ivy-covered blue cross against an opaque white ground. The foreground has a wave-like frit design. The opaque ground is most unusual in a South Jersey weight. The crown rises quite high into a pronounced cowlick more typical of New England weights. The bottom has a pontil mark and slight basal concavity, and there is an incised line around the periphery at the top edge of the opaque ground.

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, very light surface scratching as expected. Size: 3-1/4” diameter; 2-1/4” tall.

A handsome chartreuse-cut-to-clear low bowl cut with a ring of printies near the lip and another ring of overlapping printies lower on the sides. Unsigned, but almost certainly Val St. Lambert.
